The institute has formed the students’ associations and societies which conduct the various curricular and extra curricular activities round the year. At the same time, RGIT encourages its students to be part of the leading international engineering organizations and societies. The institute has taken various social, cultural and technological ventures through these forums. The students are the active members of the following organizations:

a) Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc. (IEEE)
b) Instrumentation Systems and Automation (ISA)
2. National Level :
a)Computer society of India (CSI), ISTE Chapter,
b)Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE)
3. Institute Level :
a) Computer Engineering Students’ Society (CESS)
The department of Computer engineering has formed a college level society called Computer Engineering Students’ Society (CESS) which encourages students to explore new avenues in the field of computer engineering. The society organizes various seminars, workshops and programmes for the students.
b) Association of Budding Information Technocrats (ABIT)
The department of Information Technology has formed a college level society named Association of Budding Information Technocrats (ABIT). The department organizes various presentations, seminars, workshops and competitions through this forum. The students and the staff actively contribute to the various events organized by ABIT.
c) Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA)
The department of Mechanical Engineering has founded an association for the Mechanical Engineering students of the institute. The society organizes various programmes and inter-disciplinary activities. The students of the department show enthusiasm and zeal in the various initiatives taken by MESA.
d) Alumni Association of RGIT
RGIT establishes a strong link with the alumni of the
institute through its ALUMNI ASSOCIATION. At present,
the association has 112 members and number of new
members is increasing day by day. The association
aims at establishing interpersonal relationship
between the former and the current students and the
faculty. The institute organizes a get together of the
alumni and current students annually; so that they can
share their job experiences and satisfy their nostalgic
feelings. Moreover, the Alumni can guide the current
students about available opportunities in the industry.
Thus, Alumni association is an attempt to bridge
academics with Industry.
The institute organizes Annual Cultural, Technical and sports activities under the banner of 'ZODIAC'.
